Gifts under $10: DIY Mustache Mugs
By: Katie Neely
Mustache mugs can be a fun gift for anyone. You instantly have a mustache every time you drink. I made about 20 of these for Christmas last year and made a few again this year.
What you need:
- Mugs (I bought mine at the dollar store)
- Paint pens that can be used on glass. These both work (sharpie paint pen $3.99 or Craftsmart paint pen $2.99 at Michaels Craft Store)
- Stencil for the mustache or other image you want (or free hand)
Directions:
Clean and dry all mugs. Use your stencil or free hand the image you want onto your mug.
Let the mug sit until the paint is dry.
Place the mugs on a cookie rim down. I wrote the names and year on the bottom of the mugs that I gave as gifts.
Place the cups in the oven and set the oven to 300 degrees. Let the oven pre-heat with the mugs inside. Bake the mugs for 30 minuets.
Enjoy your new mustache!
Thanks for the post! I was looking for something like this. These are very cute!
I think you may have salvaged my ideas for gifts this year. They were bad till now.
