DIY Deer Earrings
DIY Deer Earrings
By: Katie Neely
While thrifting for supplies for the Dino Planters, I found several bags of small plastic animals. These earrings are the first of many projects I have up my sleeve. Stay tuned for more projects like this one.
Supplies:
- Small plastic toys
- Electric drill with 1/16 bit
- Metallic spray paint
- Earring hooks (2)
- Headpins (2)
- Jewelry pliers
- Scissors

Directions:
I went through my plastic animals and found a pair of deer that I thought would be perfect for this project. Take your electric drill and 1/16 bit and drill holes through the animal. I drilled these through the center of the deer’s back.
Spray paint your animals with your desired color.
Once your paint dries, take your headpin and feed it through the bottom of the toy through the hole you drilled.

Take your scissors and cut the head pin leaving enough room to be able bend the headpin into a loop. Place your earring hook on the headpin and use your jewelry pliers to bend the headpin into a loop around the earring.

Make all of your friends jealous with these custom made, one of a kind earrings! This project only took about 30 minutes.
