Adorable Artist Spotlight: JJ Knight

By: Meg Humphrey

I was introduced to JJ Knight’s art thanks to Tumblr. JJ is a Dutch art school student who has a really open and friendly personality about her fandoms and about her art. I instantly became a fan of her style – it’s cute and a little super deformed, but can still manage to look mature. Her webcomic, Atlas,  is the best example of this. She started Atlas last year and it’s been a really enjoyable series with great characters!

Book One of Atlas just ended, but you have time to catch up as Book Two starts! It is updated regularly every Monday and Friday. The original reason I started following JJ, though, is because she does incredibly awesome fanart of Disney characters! Some are cute and coupley, but others are just completely ridiculous (my favorite). I have a print of this at home:

As an extension of her Disney works, she also has a webcomic based on Disney Princes and Heroes called Place of Princes or PoP for short. PoP is full of silly jokes and weird faces! It’s a must see for Disney fans.

Disney isn’t her only fandom, of course. She’s also pretty well known for Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit fan art.
