Brickcon 2013 Picture Spam!

Brickcon 2013 Picture Spam!

By: Meg Humphrey

My birthday this year happened to fall upon a gloriously nerdy weekend: National Star Wars Reads Day (10/5) and Seattle’s annual Lego convention, Brickcon. I read Star Wars books almost every day, so let’s focus on Lego, shall we?

BRICK13 1

Impressive Star Wars stand ups! The Bossk is what made me smile the most.

BRICK13 2

Predator love! ❤

BRICK13 3

In preparation for the new Godzilla movies, they had an assortment of enemies. Mothra was my favorite. Please notice the use of the cocoon in order to balance out the heavy top.

BRICK 13 4

Steampunk was a popular theme this year! Some of the globes to make the body are actually Star Wars planet sets.

BRICK13 5

So adorable!! If you can’t read it, the piece is called “Friendly Fire.”

BRICK13 6 BRICK13 7 BRICK13 8

The Battle of Hoth is always a popular scene. My favorite part is the tiny Chewie and Han by the Falcon!

BRICK13 9

A Brickcon being displayed at Brickcon. How meta.

BRICK13 10

A dazzling remake of the Tiger’s Nest Monastery.

BRICK13 11

The piece that impressed me the most, however, was this Venator Class Attack Cruiser (I think)! It couples massive size with massive details and is truly a display of hard work and genius (this is not a prepackaged set).

BRICK13 12

And I will leave you with a Sharknado.

*Note, Meg also covered BrickCon last year.
