Special Screening of Legends of the Knight
By: Curtis
[Note: My friend, Curtis, originally posted this on his podcast’s website, Clinically Inane. This is a great idea for a great cause, so I asked permission to reblog it. Please help spread the word about this event!]
As some of you may or may not know, last year I supported a documentary via Kickstarter called Legends of the Knight. Here’s the official breakdown of the film –
Legends of the Knight weaves together the stirring true stories of individuals who have overcome devastating obstacles, unselfishly given to the community, and embraced their inner superhero because of their love of Batman.
Through the deeply personal tales of Batman fans, writers, and filmmakers, this feature-length documentary explores the power of heroic stories and encourages viewers to find their own unique path to heroism. Funded by over 1,100 people from around the world, Legends of the Knight is a return to our childhood dreams of being a hero.
Put on your cape, and be inspired!
If that’s not enough for you, here’s the trailer:

I tell you about this film because Clinically Inane is planning on having a screening of it in the Seattle area! Tukwila at Southcenter Mall AMC on April 7 at 6:30pm to be more specific. The catch is that we have to pre-sell a number of tickets (75 more at the time of writing this) by MARCH 31 in order to make it a thing. Your credit card will not be charged unless we get the numbers required. This screening is also the same day as Curtis’ birthday so hooray for that! Keep in mind that this is an open event, so invite whomever you want. It’s not just a “friends of Curtis” thing. We want this to reach as many people as possible. If it goes well we will stage more screenings like this in the future.
This event, in accordance with the filmmaker Brett Culp’s wishes, will also donate all revenue received directly to a local charity. In this case, it will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House of Seattle in remembrance of Curtis’ cousin Shayla Holwegner, who lost her battle with bone cancer a few years ago. You can learn more about Shayla and what an amazing person she was here:
This one is very near and dear to Curtis, so let’s make it happen.
